I was driving to work this morning and feeling down. There was a Tim Ferriss podcast with Henry Shukman playing and I was paying extra attention this morning. The sun wasn't shining, traffic was unusually light, I had plenty of gas, there wasn't much to distract me from this Podcast. Mr. Shukman was talking about his experience with a boat in the setting sun and what happened as he was on the beach and had an 'awakening'. He is a Zen teacher and was sharing a lot of good information about transcendental meditation and his latest project, 'Open Loving'. Then he said something that I caught, about a book, by Natalie Goldberg, called 'Writing Down the Bones'. I have been thinking about writing a lot lately, and how I love it. I have also been trying to meditate, thinking about Buddhism and spirituality. Later at work I was taking a break and reading from 'Bird by Bird' by Anne Lamott. I love this book.
